The United Kingdom ‘enjoys’ a damp and mild climate, which sees more than half of the year’s days overcast. Variations in temperature and weather patterns through the country are not massive, but do exist – generally the north is colder than the south, and the west tends to be wetter than the east. Average lows in winter hit just below freezing, whereas highs in summer hit the lofty heights of around 30 degrees on average. Rainfall is pretty persistent through the year and weather patterns are prone to anomalies – hail, snow and other random weather bursts can strike at any time, with even a tornado hitting in recent years. It’s often complained about, but the weather throughout the UK really isn’t that bad – it’s just thoroughly non-eventful. For current forecasts: http://weather.yahoo.com/forecast/UKXX0085.html
